Q:
What does the CMMI
mean by bi-directional traceability?
A: Bi-directional traceability applies to requirements, design, and
implementation and is a way of providing a linkage from the high
level requirements to the end product and from the end product back
to the high level requirements.
Q:
When does the
Supplier Agreement Management Process Area apply?
A: Supplier Agreement Management is within an organization’s scope
of work if it has acquired products or product components that are
delivered to the project’s customer. Supplier Agreement
Management does not apply when using subcontractors to augment
existing staff.
Q:
Each
Specific Practice lists sub-practices below it. Are each of these
sub-practices required to fulfill the specific practice? Are these
sub-practices auditing points for the process area?
A: The model consists of three components: required, expected,
and informative. The goals are required, the practices are
expected, and everything else is informative. Only the
required and expected components are evaluated in an appraisal.
The sub-practices are informative and help in understanding the
intent of the practices.
